xpatiate is a collection of writing by me, Carolyn Hicks, a journalist/web developer transplanted from New Zealand to Melbourne. Almost everything here first appeared in either the Massey University student paper Chaff, the Evening Standard daily newspaper in Palmerston North (both in NZ), or the Big Issue magazine in Melbourne, Australia.

This isn't the complete works by any means, just a semi-representative sample. Most of the stuff here is pretty (OK, very) old now, as I've been working as a web developer for a few years now and haven't been doing so much writing. This could be changing though, so watch this space.
